Big Month Of May Continues For PASS With Star And Concord Next On Tap

NAPLES, ME (May 18) ? For racers and fans across the United States, the month of May looms large. And it?s no different for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS), which will feature the best in Super Late Model and Modified racing throughout the remainder of the month.
Following a rainy Sunday afternoon at Speedway 95 for the PASS North Super Late Models which saw Garrett Hall prevail over Derek Griffith for his second triumph of the season, attention focuses back on the rescheduled Support 50 Legs 150 at New Hampshire?s Star Speedway. Saturday afternoon?s Support 50 Legs 150 will help raise awareness for a cause affecting far too many Americans. Steve Chamberland?s 50 Legs organization helps provide amputees with the necessary care and prosthetics, that they could not otherwise afford, and to help them live a happier and healthier life.
So far this season, there have been three different winners in the first four PASS North Super Late Model events. PASS young gun Garrett Hall captured the checkered flag at Thompson Speedway in the season opener and last weekend at Speedway 95 and now sits just six points behind championship leader, DJ Shaw. Shaw is coming off a win of his own at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway that saw him get the best of Joey Doiron on a late-race restart. While 4-time PASS North champion Ben Rowe took the checkered flag at Oxford Plains Speedway in a thriller over Shaw and Johnny Clark.
As PASS North looks to get back on track this weekend, the best short trackers in the south are anticipating their next on track action coming up next weekend at Concord Speedway in North Carolina. Memorial Day weekend is always big in the Charlotte area and will kickoff in earnest on Friday night, May 27 with a big night of action at Concord Speedway, headlined by the PASS South Super Late Models and Southern Modified Racing Series (SMRS) Presented By PASS. Kannapolis, NC teenagers Kodie Conner and Matt Craig will lead the PASS South Super Late Models back to Concord for the Old Glory 125. While Jonathan McKennedy will be seeking his third straight SMRS Tour-Modified win in the Charles Kepley Memorial 125. The big night of action will also include former Concord Speedway track champions Shaun Mangum and Kenny Brooks in the Mid-Atlantic Limited Late Model event, along with a big field of the popular Mid-Atlantic Street Stocks.
And, if that?s not enough, the PASS North Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds will conclude the weekend on Sunday, May 29 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Vermont, along with Thunder Road?s ACT Late Models, as part of the Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic.
All the action gets under way on Saturday at Star Speedway with practice beginning at 1 PM, heat races slated to begin at 4:25 PM, followed by features for the PASS North Super Late Models, NEMA Lites, Strictlys, Vintage Mods and Roadrunners.
Next week, action will begin on Thursday, May 26 at Concord Speedway with rotating practice for all divisions from 3-6 PM. On Friday, May 27, rotating practice for all divisions will be from 1-4:20 PM, followed by qualifying at 5 PM, and features for the PASS South Super Late Models, SMRS Tour-Modifieds, Mid-Atlantic Limited Late Models, and Street Stocks set to start at 7 PM.
