Auburndale Speedway Racing Preview for 3/31/18

SPORTSMAN BACK FOR 50 LAPS SATURDAY NIGHT AT AUBURNDALE SPEEDWAY

Auburndale Speedway wraps up the month of March and celebrates Easter this Saturday night with the “Easter Bunny 50” for the very popular Sportsman class. The track will then take two weeks off from the regular stock car racing program for Night of Destruction #1 on April 7th and the Polk County Music Fest that will be held April 14-15 at the Speedway.

Along with the Sportsman cars the Modified Mini Stocks will be in action for just the second time this year. The Mini Cups return to action this week as well and will be joined by the V-8 Bombers, Q Mini Stocks, Scramblers and the new Pure Stock class.

Along with the racing, the track will be giving away a number of Easter baskets to the kids. The baskets have been donated by drivers, race teams and fans and will be given out throughout the night using a ticket drawing for the kids aged 5-12. Make sure to bring the kids (and their friends too) because the speedway has already collected over 70 baskets to give away!

Devin McLeod of Zephyrhills, who won the Wheel Man Series race here a few weeks ago will be back to go for two in a row. He will have plenty of challengers including fellow Zephyrhills resident Brooke Storer, Brandon “Bones” Duchscherer (Driving the TRM #54), Adam Briggs, Brandon Morris, Brandon Martin and many more. Young Sam Cornman, who has been racing Legend Cars of recent, hopes to debut a new Sportsman car out of the Little Gator Racing shop this week as well.

Intermission will feature an autograph session on the front stretch with the Sportsman drivers. The Modified Mini Stocks are next for 25 laps followed by the V-8 Bombers, also for 25 laps. The 50-lap Sportsman headliner is next before the evening wraps up with feature races for the Scramblers and Pure Stocks.
