For the second time this season the Vores Compact Touring Series has snagged an ex Cup Series regular to start one of their events.This Saturday two time Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip is ready to take a crack at the series regulars at Shady Bowl Speedway in Degraff Ohio.Former Cup Series regular Ken Schrader made an appearance with the series at Flat Rock Speedway in Michigan last month.
That is some good promotion! I hope they pack the place.
Mikey showed some class last night
On a night when almost 50 of the Vores Travelling Compact Series cars were in attendance,Michael’s qualifying efforts in his Toyota mini relegated him to the B Main.Unfortunately for him his efforts in the B left him outside looking in for the A Main
The owners of Shady Bowl Speedway offered up a provisional spot in the A Main but Mikey declined stating if he couldn’t earn his way in he wasn’t going to fill another series regulars spot.Good for him,and wise on the Speedways part to try to get him included into the entire program.
Sterling Marlin is scheduled to race his latemodel next week at the Bowl,making a return appearance from last season.
