Jim was talking about his infamous “spin” during a big race at West Palm several years ago… Guess what Freight Train… I was there that day taking pics from the grandstands!! Did a good job of coming back from that though… Also a shot of Jim racing with Dan Daughtry in Morris Davis’ Ford…
WOW! That’s amazing. I hardly have any shots of our trips outside of the Tampa Bay area back then so I appreciate the opportunity to see some.
Dan was a great guy. Alot of folks didn’t get along with him due to his aggressiveness but I always liked him and got along well with him. I just ran across some articles & pics of Dan while rummaging through some old programs a while ago.
Kudos to you ancrdave for keeping history alive around here with your posts & pics. I for one really enjoy them. :ernaehrung004:
Just got a new scanner at work, so they’ll be alot more!!
Yep Fenton
U R right about Dave… he’s been around for a VERY long time and keeping us all current with OLD pics and the sort.
Hell, I remember him announcing when I was a mere lad… I must have been 5 or 6 the first time I remember him up in the booth doin his thing… and he hasn’t changed a bit since then either…

Dave has game
Years ago I was the flagman at OSW and I would be in the flag stand for warmups, well a new car would pop out of the pits, and I would hear Dave talk all abuot who he was and where he came from. Amasing!!!
Dave is definitely amazing. I met him this Friday and he is a class act and a gentleman.
Even took a picture of me by my car
I wonder?
I wonder if Jim remembers they made him cut his push bars off the front bumper?
You mean these?
Naw…I don’t remember.
(BTW…those weren’t “push” bars. They were “keep out” bars to keep people out of the radiator that kept backing into me in the corners)
