I have to commend the tech inspector. He did the job he was suppose to do and said he’d do. Everyone was told what to expect. Sure some big names were DQ’d, but a huge amount of “big and small” names were legal and qualified. How do you think the rest of the field would have felt if these cars were allowed to advance with the cars not meeting the specs. Particularly Wallace who so flagrantly tried to cheat. All tracks need to tech like this. Way to go Five Flags.
I used to like Jason Hogan but his stance about letting big names not get dq’d to keep the fans happy is a bunch of bull.
And regarding Kyle Busch’s comment about never coming back - good!
I got a kick out of Hogans comments that ‘the fans paid to see the big stars race, and they got cheated out of that’.
Wasn’t that race nearly a sell out even before Wallace and Busch even decided to enter?
It’s great to see that Brooks refused to back down to anyone, no matter how famous of a name you have. 55 cars, and I think about 5 DQ’s… tells me that about 50 of the others didn’t mind playing by the rules that they were told numerous times were going to be strictly enforced.
Best thing that could happen to the Derby, is NOT seeing Wallaces hauler pull in next year! Arrogant, loudmouthed, punk AND a cheater… lots to pull for with this clown!
Ya i was thinking the same thing. ALL the fans came to the snowball for noone but Bush and Wallace…someone’s living in a fairytale.
The reserved seats were sold out compared to maybe 100 or so left last year, and the General admission appeared to be a little higher, but that was all due to the warm weather. The Snowball always is packed!
