Lakeland Race Lacking Northern Late Models

I see the Speedfest entry list as of today has only 12 late models. A quality 12 at that but not many cars for a 100 lap race on a 3/4 mile oval. I guess the economy, gas prices are keeping the numbers down.

and they’re being generous in calling cars from north carolina “north” and yes, i know the word before carolina…

The list of Super Late Model entries is up to 40 total at this point ( WED 3 PM EST) …plus 24 crate late models. We are still awaiting confirmation that Ray Everham will be in a car…that announcement if it comes, should be made by the CRA by tonight.

I think the point he was trying to make is that Friday night’s race of North only and South only races could make for a lackluster North race.

Right on Jack Tripper! To bad they couldn’t run them all together on Friday night in a odd/even qualifer twin 75 lapper which would determine the starting postion for the 200 lapper on Saturday. Otherwise the North will have an advantage of starting postion on Saturday with only 12 rides.

I would expect the north/south designation line to change after teams get there.

That doesn’t sound like much of a race. Maybe cut it to 25 laps?
