As some of you may already know, I grew up in the cradle of NASCAR. One of the legends and characters from that area was Cotton Owens. As a youth I used to go by his shop off Valley Falls Road and try and get a look at all of the cars and other neat stuff he had stored there. Anyway, ol’ Cotton was front page news in Spartanburg today as he discussed his role in the first Daytona 500. Here’s a link in case anyone wants to take a little trip down memory lane.
