Jr. Miller left on good terms when he vacated the Riggs Racing ride and will run on his own in the Southern Series this year.
In fact Riggs Racing president, Jeff Riggs, says Miller has better equipment than the team now provides its new driver Andy Seuss.
Miller has been practicing in a Puddin Swisher car at Bowman Gray however he was in his familiar 69 car at Caraway with new colors and even the Advance Auto logo, just minus the Riggs Racing crew.
However the depature of the Miller/Riggs combo didnt help either one in qualifying.
Jr Miller qualified 19th and Seuss had to rely on a provisional to make the 150 lap race with 26 starters from an entry list that consisted of 33 drivers.
Seuss had to struggle to make it back thru the field. He had to pit a couple of times during the event. Seuss would come home 10th in his first outing with Riggs.
Things were different with Miller. He too pitted a couple of times but only completed 128 laps. Sources say that the cars alternator failed or wasnt turned on during the race causing the battery to go dead. Miller would come home 24th.
Miller finds himself now on an uphill battle to get back to the top where he is used to running.
It appears that Miller and Riggs may or will miss each other as far as running at the top. Only time will tell.
The series now moves to Kenly NC where Southern National Speedway will host the next race this coming Saturday night.
