We started doing a weekly video on Ocala.com talking about racing. This week, we were on location at Ocala Speedway. Mike talked about how the decision to go dirt was paying off, and I got to turn some laps in a gladiator (not pretty). Go to the link and scroll down to the video. Thanks
Good Job
Hey Joe. Good job man. Looks awesome. What did you use to grab the video
to put it on here or any where for that matter? I am looking for some software or hardware to do that. I have a lot of old video to share and I’d also like to put up some current interviews at times. Thanks Bob…
Hey Bob, that’s a good question. We edit in Final Cut Pro, but our web guys actually upload it to the site. I’m not sure how that all works, but I know they go through a company called Saxotech.
Please don’t take this as critical, as it’s only meant to be constructive: I hope you explained (I don’t have sound, so maybe you did cover this), that full Safety Gear… drivers suit, helmet, gloves, etc… should be worn EVERY time you are on a speedway in a racecar.
I know you couldn’t have gotten the point across for this clip while wearing a helmet, but I hope people will realize that this was a demonstration only, and would not be tolerated at Ocala Speedway or any other track during a race program.
Other than that, any time you can get some TV time to help boost interest in our sport, is always helpful… keep up the good work!
P.S. - Still need to meet you one of these days… maybe the Sprint show next week.
I’ll be there for the sprints.
Yeah, it will be explained in tomorrow’s column that I was doing about 30 mph. Cool race car though, even though it still had an AC and stereo that worked. And you had to open the door to get in.
But look for me on top of the press box and wave like hell.
