So what do you do when your sitting around a firestation with nothing to do? “Talk Racing” says Conover NC resident Boyce Lineberger who is an official with the Whelen Southern Modified Series.
Lineberger is one of the nicest officials that you would ever want to meet however dont underestimate him. He is a firefighter and is pretty stout to be 38 years old.
Lineberger is a part time racing official but his real job is an engineer with the Hickory Fire Department.
Married to wife Judy, Lineberger has no children therefore likes to go racing, play golf and ride motorcycles.
On race day, Lineberger can be seen lining up the cars on the front stretch before each Whelen Southern Modified event.
Sometimes Linberger has to play policeman/mediator as well as the bottom picture shows. Lineberger has a way of calming down some drivers before tempers get out of hand.
