I hate to say this but with the rising costs of parts, fuel, and our time… It seems that some of the promoters still haven’t figured out that they need to pay just a little bit more to the drivers…
Namely this inspires several things… First and foremost car count… and secondly with car count comes fan count… Some may argue that they are losing money, but that is a load of baloney… They will lose much more if car count and fan count keeps going down…
The time when a trophy, a hamburger, and a Soda for the winner of a division(NSS-- Strictly Stock as an example) is long past… I know of a whole bunch of people that would start racing again if they even gave just a cash prize to 1st place or a little better prize structure to the winners of other divisions… Cmon with the prices of engines and cars that a person needs to compete effectively in divisions from Super Stock on up…
And again, track operators must understand that these and several other things have to happen to increase business and it takes more than a week or two of trying to see positive changes…
Being a former racer (my ex now has all of my racing goodies… I hated to see my goodies go, but good riddance to rough problems as well as all of my money… ROFLMAO) and business consultant gives an outsider a different view of how things go… Now I know there are alot of other factors, like honest and accurate tech, corresponding events, advertisement, etc. etc.
Just a couple of thoughts for all to peruse on a speedy Sunday…
On a sidenote, I am back on the prowl for a car or two… Finally getting off from underneath of my debt load from the Ex…
