The last "REAL " cup independent…Carl Long. No start and park here!
48 - Pancho Carter
I can’t remember these guys names. I shot these at ccmp.
I know I don’t count good.
#41 A DAARA car
#44 Brian Teeters
#41 Tyler Ivey
3x3 just a unusual # Its a DAARA car too
Dirt LM Hall of Famer, Bud Lunsford
The “Mayor of Vernon Center”, Sonny Seamon.
No, he was not the Mayor, but he was one hell of a chassis man, and a great driver to boot. Not many driver were ever trusted in Maynard Troyers back-up cars, but Sonny was. That alone speaks volumes for his talents.
Carol’s hero… almost likes him as much as Rex Guy!
Kenny Schrader in his 52, and also a cool shot of him in a Wedge-style LM in the mid-80’s.
The Kosiski family in Nebraska is like the Kinsers in Indiana… it’s hard to find a track that one of the family members isn’t running at.
This shot is Joe Kosiski, who races with brothers Steve & Ed, as well as father Bob.
The team pictured here started out as W.I.N. Inc., one of the partners being Harry Ranier. Ranier was the team owner with drivers such as Bobby Allison, Benny Parsons and Buddy Baker, and eventually who Davey Allison his first big shot in Nascar in the #28 cars, picking up Havoline just after the Daytona 500 that year. This same team evolved into Robert Yates Racing, which is now controlled by Doug Yates and is still out there with Travis Tvapil and David Gilliland driving.
The driver in this shot is Lennie Pond, who was the 1973 Rookie of the Year, beating out another guy that is just a bit more famous now… Darrell Waltrip!
Canadian Kenny Andrews in his Oswego Super. He won a few races there during Oswego’s most competitive years. Weekly racers there included Jim Shampine, Nolan Swift, Bentley Warren, Chuck Ciprich, Steve Gioia, Eddie Bellinger, Fred Graves, Norm Mackereth, Warren Coniam, Ron Wallace and several others capable of winning features.
I always thought this was one beautiful Dirt Mod. Driver Gary Iulg was a great wheelman himself on both dirt and asphalt, in Mods, Supers and USAC Sprints.
Hooters Cup racer, Joe Harrison Jr.
Alabama’s Darrell Brown, in a nice looking car. Many of his cars weren’t nearly as attractive as this one! He was a former regular on the All-Pro and All American Challenge Series circuits, and was a consistent top-5 car. I seem to remember him winning a big race at New Smyrna one time.
When I think of #58, I think of one my favorites, Jack Bertling. Always loved his simple blue and white paint jobs.
Great post !!! Wish I could contribute. Need to get me one of those fancy, new fangled scanners.
Back when the Busch Series still meant something.
Upstate NY racer, Dave Kotary. There were a bunch Of Kotary’s that have raced from the 50’s, until present day. One of them still runs at Utica-Rome Speedway.
