Sadly, we have lost a son, husband, father, brother, good friend, and fellow sprint racer…Mike McCance. Mike passed away following an outpatient surgical procedure.
Please keep the McCance family in your prayers. Mike was an absolute joy to be around and one of the first racers I sought out when arriving at the tracks. Mike always had a smile, a nice thing to say, and was a loving man who doted on his family. My heart breaks for the pain his family must be going through. Please lift the family up in your prayers and pray that they are given strength and peace during this difficult time. If the McCance family needs anything, please let us know. We will be there.
will keep the McCance family in my prayers. goodness …he looks so young and healthy. very sad… God, please keep this young man close and bring his family comfort during these difficult times.

Anyone who has ever met Mike and his brothers will tell you they are all, the entire family, just a delight to be around. The goodnatured sibling rivalry on the track was fun to watch, especially last year when Mike and his brother, Barry, were so close in points. His brother, Gary, is our race director. Mike would always tell me “Now, you make sure you mention me in your article”…or “Did you see that? Make sure you write about it!” LOL. He made me laugh all the time.
Brett Cole said it best…Mike was a gentleman…and he was. He will be sorely missed.
I just have to say there is no doubt in my mind that Mike is now an Angel. The standing room only turnout today just proves what an impact he had and the many lives he touched. I know his family is proud…heartbroken, but proud. The chorus of a Vince Gill song comes to my mind:
Go rest high on that mountain
Son, your work
on Earth is done
Go to Heaven a shouting
Love for the Father
and the Son.
Go rest high on that mountain, Mike.
