Johnny Johnson hung up his helmet from the Modified Series after winning two track championships at Bowman Gray and some 39 victories.
However he like some of others in the East Coast Flathead Ford Association cant get racing out of their blood.
Johnson won the companion event at ACE Speedway this past Monday for the old timers.
Fun to watch, this series reminds you of the old days when they ran coaches and coupes at many of the southern tracks back in the fifties and sixties.
The series has backing from Kevin Powell’s Foothill Ford and the series is growing with more added dates to its schedule.
The East Coast Flathead Association even has a 79 year old racer competing.
