Another Raceway Closure--

Angola Motor Speedway/Steuben Co. Raceway in NE Indiana–

Has issued the following:
The 2008 season was not conductive for racing, and never in 15 years have encountered such increases for gasoline and other cost. The Track is for sale or lease.

But really, can’t all current operating Raceways say that? Can’t they hold on till all this crazy economic stuff passes? (and it will, as usual)

I had just gone there in mid-June for the Stan Perry Super-Late Model biggie, the place was packed.
It is owned by Dick Poe, and he also owns Jack Landis’ stable, I think.

The Ron and Todd McCrearys’ probably can relate to this also, as they/we/I are from that neck of the woods, also.

Sadly, another fine facility goes shuttered. It won’t be plowed under, that’s for sure. It is truely in the middle of a corn field near the Ohio/Indiana Turnpike.

A high-banked 3/8 mile asphalt oval had just undergone a massive revovation just a couple of years earlier, and is a first class facility all around, front and back, top to bottom.
