Really need your help now to fill the laps fo the Charity Truckers 200 !

I really need your help to fill these laps, we are running out of time to get the sold and collected.

$20 per lap, $10 goes directly to family $10 to leader of said lap. Please if everyone would buy one or a couple we can fill them. I know things are tight and tough, but if we all chip in we can do it.

Please call me at 407-497-0448 or e-mail rbmini68@aol.com.

Thanks

It might help to sell some laps if you posted what these Lap Sponsors would get for their money. Is there a Sponsor board for the fans to see? How about a flier, some P.A. mentions… something.

I sponsored a lap or 2 at a previous event (not Ricks truck race, just to be clear), and I don’t feel like I got one damn thing for my money (which was $100 per lap). Not a Thank You, not a mention over the PA system. The only satisfaction I got, was that Jeff Choquette happened to lead lap 118, so he got my cash. He made sure to say Thanks, but the track itself never did.

For the Race of Champions in NY, every year, Marilyn Toal takes charge of selling the Sponsored Lap program. Nobody gets their check unless they fill out a letter of appreciation to the person or business that sponsored that lap. Plus, there is a board as you enter the track to show who sponsored each lap, the Program has a full listing, and the announcer mentions each and every person that stepped up.

It’s much easier to sell something like this if there is at least SOMETHING being offered in return. I’m not saying that Rick ISN’T doing anything, but telling people what to expect (and then your group needs to follow through) is much easier than just asking for a donation.

A good idea that just needs better execution!

Knowing that the family will get half ($10.00) and the other half to the drivers who usually donate the money back to the family is a good thing. But I am sure that Rick, one way or another, will make sure that everyone’s names will be mentioned somewhere for their good deed. Rick has always appreciated all the help from the fans and drivers and has always thanked them. You can count on him to do that.

Alex is really looking forward to meeting Lacey since she and Alex share one of the same problems - Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. Alex has never met another person who has this and he is really looking forward to meeting Lacey. Alex had five major surgeries on his feet alone to make them work and although his hands will never move up or down, still faces those surgeries. I fell like God helped Rick find this family and meant for Lacey and Alex to meet.

And I know one year Sandy and I did the Governor’s Cup lap money and she made sure all the drivers got thank you cards to send out to the people who donated money for the laps. In fact, Sandy went out and got the cards herself for the drivers. Now whether they did send them or not, I could not tell you but they had them to send out. That year Sandy and I sold every lap, all 200, and had the money collected before the race even began and the drivers were paid that night the lap money.
