Please keep in mind… these are just the ones we have heard from, or from a reliable source, that WILL be here… they will most likely be a few stragglers added Friday night.
Good to see the “Q” Cars in the line-up… Not sure if Billy Mowery or James Glover have ever run at NSS… They probably have, just not when I was there… And YOHO… He’s worth the price of admission!!!
Also, just for fun, here are the qualifying results from the 1977 race a Golden Gate Speedway, 31 years ago… Five of these drivers are still active… Can you name them?
Nice list there. Good to see so much participation.
Mark… don’t listen to the boneheads that complain about so-and-so being listed, but not showing up. I believe it’s VERY important to let people know which drivers should be there. The worst thing you can do to promote an event is by having the attitude of “you’ll have to be here to see who shows up”. Part of the building of excitement for an event, is watching the list grow from time to time. For me, the CRA updates are working… East Bay has a pre-entry list for their Speedweeks events, and is always worth a peek a few times a week… it worked for the Speedfest events at Lakeland. The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s always has a continually evolving entry list.
Use them to your advantage, rather than worry about who might be offended that their driver was on the list, but didn’t show. Again, being the messenger, don’t LET yourself get shot!
One more thing… please, please, PLEASE tell me there will be some kind of invert for this race. We don’t need another 200 lapper with ZERO passes for the lead.
We qualified dead in the middle of a 58-car field with the Lil’ General, Scarborough, behind the wheel in '77.
Lots of great drivers there! That was probably the second-best Florida 200 ever! Top one being the following year, '78, with the Trickle/Anderson wars at both St. Pete and the Gate!
