Kids Bike Races at VSP Saturday Night!

Boys and girls it is your time to shine at Volusia Speedway Park as kids 10 and under take centerstage this Saturday for Kids Bike Races. And for the bigger kids in the stands, it will be Late Models, Sportsman, Modifieds, Thunder Stocks who will race for $250 to win and 4 Cyl Challengers. Plus the 4 Cyl Challengers will run their rainout feature from August 1 where they go for $250 to win. More fun than a barrel of monkies for everyone.

For the kids, there will be four divisions for the bike races - 9 and 10 year olds, 7 and 8 years old, 5 and 6 years old and our special kids 4 and under division. The 4 and under group can use bikes with training wheels, tricycles and other pedal-powered rides. Upper age divisions are bicycle only.

General Manager Tonya Moschell is very excited about the kids bike races but would like it noted that all bikes must be in good working conditions, brakes must work and all kids will have to have helmets to race. “No helmet, no racing. And yes, the bikes will be inspected before the races to make sure they are in good shape and the brakes do work.”

Division winners will be recognized and all kids will receive participant gifts. All of the kids racing will be entered into a drawing where one lucky girl and one lucky boy will win a new bike.

The bike races will be held in conjunction with Bath Fitter Night and weekly Fastlane Five Racing. Bike racing will take place during intermission (approximately between 8:30 and 9:00pm).

With the upcoming Labor Day Late Model Shootout coming up on September 5th with the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series, a few more Late Models are expected Saturday night as they fine tune their rides for September 5th and $3000 to win. Fourteen of the United Dirt Late Models ran “Battle of the Blacktop” last weekend at Charlotte County Speedway with Keith Nosbisch taking the win. But on September 5th, they return to the dirt and more familiar surroundings for the guys.

On Saturday, August 29th, pit gate will open at 4:30 with grandstands opening at 5:30. General admission is $10.00 adult, students 11-15 are $5.00, children 10 and under are FREE. Drive-in parking is $10.00.

Volusia Speedway Park is located 15 miles west of Ormond Beach, FL on State Road 40. Additional information and updates will be available on the website ? www.volusiaspeedwaypark.com, or call 386-985-4402.
