Yep, thirty four years ago (Yikes!) this past week we made a colossal error in calcs trying to save a little weight in the 1975 Florida State Championship at Golden Gate.
Yeah I know this falls into ?could?a, would?a, should?a? and ?if a frog had wings?.? etc., etc. but it still doesn?t keep me from reminiscing about almost pulling off the big double for the weekend after winning the Gulf Coast Classic at St. Pete the night before in my first full year in Late Models.
While re-reading the blow-by-blow article below of the race published in Florida Raceweek I still feel honored to have been involved, to have had the opportunity to race with and to have the advantage of learning from those that I consider to be some of the best hot-shoes not just of the day but ever.
