Another Nascar guy saves a Speedway

Robert Pressley will be re-opening the Kinsport Speedway in Tennessee. This is a concrete oval that hasn’t run weekly since 2002, although it has run a few special shows in between.

Nice once again, to see a Nascar guy step up and re-invest in the sport that got them rich in the first place.

Pressley may have never won a Cup race, but that didn’t stop him from getting loaded along the way!

got loaded?–

glad someone did…with $$$$$$$$. This here ol’ boy didn’t, in that span of time, but there were the the smart ones that saved their money, invested it wisely, and now are doing something for short track raceways.
good story, it is.

It would be awesome if a likewise situation took place at Lakeland, Sunshine and Bronson. The first two are a very long shot to reopen but if Bronson had the right ownership and promotion that place would be the happening spot up that way. There isn’t anything to do in Levy County before hunting season begins and after it ends.

Is Sunshine Speedway still actually there?

The track is stil there but all the bleachers, score tower, etc is long gone. The track is used for testing toll booths or something like that. The road never made it that far and the drag strip is still doing well and have a lease for several more years. Its too bad, there are a lot of racers down this way that would love to race there again. It will never happen.

That is too bad. I never raced there, but always intended to. Reminds me of what has happened to our St. Augustine Speedway.

I had forgot about Robert Presley. I called him a great driver, wish him all the good luck!!
