[B]LegendsNation.com has learned that Bronson Speedway, formerly known as Bronson Motor Speedway in Bronson, Florida, has been purchased by Young Unlimited Inc, and is scheduled to reopen in March, 2011 after sitting silent for over a year. The 3/8ths-mile high-banked oval is looking to host various divisions of racing during the 2011 season, including a focus on INEX-sanctioned Legends Cars and possibly Bandoleros.

Chris and Ann Young, owners of Young Unlimited Inc, purchased the track from former racer Mike Cope at the beginning of February, and received the keys to the facility on Wednesday, February 9th, 2011.

?While we need to clean up the facility and make sure everything is up to speed, Mike Cope did a great job with the improvements he did to this track when he owned it,? said Ann Young. ?From the catch fence to the bathrooms, everything says class. When we get everything cleaned up and ready, this is going to be a top-notch facility everyone will enjoy coming to.?

The Young family is not strangers to racing themselves. The New York natives are well known at Riverhead Raceway as Chris Young Sr races NASCAR Modifieds full season, while their son Chris Jr. races Legends Cars in the Semi-Pro division. That experience being racers will lend itself to providing a great atmosphere for fans and drivers alike.

?We want everyone to come to a place to race with class,? said Ann Young. ?We want to bring back the old days of racing where everyone came to the track to have fun.?

Ann Young told LegendsNation.com that they are looking to incorporate various local divisions they have had at the track in the past as well as a Late Model division and INEX-sanctioned Legend Cars. Bandoleros are also a possibility once they determine how well they will be able to race at the track. Also, the track might entertain touring series, including Modifieds or Late Models, in the future.

While a firm opening date hasn?t been set, Ann Young told LN that they are looking towards the middle to late March to have cars on the track, which is located 15 miles southwest of Gainesville, for feature racing.

The Young family is scheduling an Open House at the track on Saturday, February 19th, from 1pm ? 5pm for those that are in the area and want to check out the facilities. The track address is 9950 NE State Rd 24, Bronson, FL, 32621. A new website will be in the works shortly, but interested parties can contact Ann Young at bmsowner@aol.com or 516-381-8023.

LegendsNation.com will have more information on the upcoming 2011 schedule for Bronson Speedway once it is known.

I wish them luck, it’s a great little track and i enjoyed running there. It is unique to say the least. I am glad it is re-opening.

Very glad to hear the track will be opening. I just moved here and stumbled across it on a trip to Cedar Key a couple weeks ago. Think I might stop by the Open House!
