It looked like the World Series really hit its stride tonight with excellent racing in the tour mods and SLM classes.
I’ll remember this as the night that the Madhouse boys from NC came down to race against the yankees. I became a Burt Meyers fan too! Was this his second night at the track? He ran wheel to wheel with Ted Christopher for the lead in a highly competitive tour mod race. It even introduced a new villain to the NSS fans, James “Mr. Controversy” Civalli, who was notable for his unrestrained use of the bumper and nerf bars.
I was really happy to see Becca Kasten break out and win the SLM 35 lap feature. She started fourth, passed cleanly and finally worked around race leader Ryan Moore. It was a good race throughout the top 10 or so, especially Tim Russell and Stephen Nasse, who ran side by side on many occasions, and did so without incident.
Great racing weather too!
