Basically told the owner to shove it. Stepped out of the car 10 minutes before the race because they wanted her to start and park and save the car for California for a different driver. Kind of crappy to throw that on her at the last minute. She just got a new fan.

She said in that interview that the car owner, Rick Russell, was gonna go to NASCAR and tell them to black-flag her if she didn’t start and park. Black flag her for what? Racing, like she’s supposed to be doing?? I never knew that a car owner even had the “authority” (more like “audacity”) to go to NASCAR and force their driver(s) to park.
By the way, she got a ride at California; Rick Ware Racing is giving her a car to run.

Bet she won over more fans than the car owner. They may be allowed to start and park but it still sucks, all forms of racing have those cars and owners. NHRA used to allow non qualified cars to buy a spot from the 16th qualifier if they didn’t make the show don’t know which is worse.
If she is as attractive as the picture I saw of her and talented enough to get a chance at a ride I certainy hope she gets another opportunity as she surely deserves one for the courage of her convictions. People who trash the concept of women racing are ignorant to the fact that they are bringing in a whole new group of potential sponsors the lack of which has made start and park a sad reality to our sport.
If she can drive with the boys, it shouldn’t matter if she’s attractive or not.
she should have started the race and fell back to last and parked it on the outside wall then the inside wall and then put it in neutral and held it to the floor until it grenaded .

If she did the above, all the car owners would notice her skill and judgement, and she would get LOTS of offers to drive!

Rick Russell is an asshole, I’d hate to the driver of any of his cars for awhile, stunts like that don’t go away. I was a fan of Jen anyway and even more so now. Danika still sux and I’m just about tired of her damn whining!!
I was also impressed with her decision, if it was a start and park for HER at California it would be a little different. A little, i am not a fan of start and park unless you know your car is broken and you want a couple of laps for a paying finish.
