turning the power steering pump too fast?

I have a problem with the PS fluid getting really hot after a few laps. I have tried to locate a Crank pulley that has 2 different diameter grooves to slow down the pump but come up empty. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have a 6" PS pulley on it and run the water pump and crank pulley 1 to 1. It is also a Sweet pump.

Thanks

try a smaller crank pulley ( 30% reduction ,will slow w/p down also )

If I go with a smaller crank pulley, the motor overheats (water pump is too slow). I was trying to find a crank pulley that has 2 different diameter grooves somi can keep my 1 to 1 water pump. Looks like i am going to have to but a smaller crank and water pump pulley. Thought maybe someone would have another idea.

ever think about an oil cooler in the p/s return line ??

Yes I have. After further investigation, I believe that the pump just went bad. Going to order another and see how it does. If it still gets hot, than I will have to run a cooler.
