Daytona Racing Souvenirs

Noticed yesterday that Daytona Racing Souvenirs & Hobbies on International Speedway Blvd. has closed its doors… They had been there for over 20 years… The Howards used to run the souvenir booths at New Smyrna and Orlando and were also involved with the DAARA for a long time… Doug used to let me park in front of his store during the Daytona races… After the races were over I could avoid the traffic jams and slip over to Tomoka Farms Rd. to get to NSS in time for World Series practice… Wondering if they moved or if the economy has killed off another long-standing business…

If this is the place I am thinking about they had a large inventory of old programs,some collectibles as well as other printed matter.If they are in fact out of business that would be quite an inventory for e-bay or some other venue. Lets think positive and hope they have just relocated.

sometimes i drive to daytona just to buy a few models from them and then grab some dinner at dj’s deck.
