Even if the hurricane drifts east and only skirts us this weekend, it’s still gonna’ RAIN!! Possibly even flood some areas. So,in my opinion, it’s a good call to anticipate this weather 5 days early due to current reports.
I mean, what the hell does the weatherman know anyway??
Also school starting…BTW, my division was off this weekend anyway, so no horse in this race…:smilie_bett:
Enjoy the weekend off everybody…Storm or no storm…:ernaehrung004:

I agree Jim, seriously doubt I would of been there anyhow. Nothin lost here.
Jim unless this turns more to the west. You most likely will not see any rain. 75% of it is on the east side of the eye. Which when a strom like this goes where they say this one is going. Dries out those on the west side of it.
Ok Rick…but less rain is still rain and the grandstands will be as empty as a NASCAR truck race…:sprachlos020:
Good point though…

Do you think that since NASCAR is racing at Bristol this weekend that has anything to do with the Cancellations? billy
well you cant order a storm but if you could this would be the weekend for NSS to have a week off. the 2 worst nights are this week and mothers day.
the last storm that went up the coast 75 miles off didnt leave any rain at all but i wouldnt want to be anyware close to all the stuff that is going to blow down there. lights signs and so on.

Well Don why dontthey just close those two weekends then, that might make sense. Have you ever noticed how so many drivers are glad when the races get called off? Always wondered about that.
Lets see
If citrus cancels ???
I think Citrus and Bronson will hold out till the last minute on this. The car count and fans will be big if they get to run. I’ll be at Bronson with friends if they don’t cancel.

hmmmmm
i personally think all race tracks in Florida should shut down for July and August every yr. they will make up for alot of their losses in Sept. and Oct. because the fans and drivers will be in some serious withdrawal. the money they save on setting up for a weekend and having it rain will be saved and its alot! That will give the drivers a chance to spend some money on their cars and the cost of getting to tracks and be able to spend more time doing other fun things as a family. will give tracks a chance to catch up on some maintenance.
rains almost every weekend and just too hot to sit in the heat.
Just a thought…:sprachlos020:
carolwicks aka oz
PLUS Carol, there’s no one here in the summer, they’re up north. And the 2 or 3 dazen people living here most of them go on vacation. Population starts to triple in Oct. More people, more fans, duh!!!

Tuna thats why they dont take a few summer weeks off. Some other track might get a few good weeks out of it and the track owner of today would rather loose money than let a nother track make any.
The only track that would do what they said was sunshine speedway when Dan Jones was there .
Dan and i when i was at Desoto speedway would do dates and class races together. I rember when i gave there sportsman free pit passes to come over the bridge. Dan would do the same. We even sent a offical with them.
That was working together. After Dans 30 years and he left Inverness its been dog eat dog and i was one of the badest dogs. the hounds have been dooing better this last year trying to catch anything to eat.
Its hard for them to work together when a few are trying to advantage.
the fan has to ignore them and watch the drivers and the race.

Didn’t Desota announce last week there would be no races this week??
Yep and got bashed for it. this is the weekend that we planed to go fishing in the south. We are going to be in PA this weekend and it will be a sellout but they didnt want to have a stockcar race either this weekend.
I had a big openwheel race years ago ($60,000 purse)and they moved the supperboul the same weekend. I didnt change my date. didnt think that many people watch TV. great crowed (1600) for the first day of heats and b mains.
super sunday 480 people. opps. That was a new morgage on my house.
The promoter has to pay for those mistakes.
