Looks like more out-of-state drivers will take their shot against the “Florida Mafia” at this Year’s 46th Annual Florida Governor’s Cup 200…
Among the confirmed entries as of 4:00pm today are…
2011 JEGS CRA All-Star Tour Champion Erik Jones (#4) out of Byron, Michigan
2010 Governor’s Cup Polesitter Jimmy Weller (#23) out of Hubbard, Ohio
and BJ McLeod Motorsports drivers Matt Tifft (#89) out of Hinkley, Ohio and Scott Heckert (#72) out of Ridgefield, Connecticut…
We have calls into and hope to be able to confirm additional out-of-state entries soon, possibly including one of the biggest names in Super Late Model racing in the entire Country!
The Pre-Entries link is up on the NewSmyrnaSpeedway.org Homepage and is being updated as we hear from more drivers!
Just 16 days until the Governor’s Cup!!!
Becca Kasten is also planning on coming, but not definite at this point. Would LOVE to see her come back. In my opinion, she’s the best female racer in the country right now.
Also, not confirmed, the Corey Freed team is planning on being there.
@Jerry… Just spoke to Becca via Facebook and they are trying really hard and as she said, she “really really really wants to run the Gov Cup” but they are still trying to find some sponsorship to be able to run it… They have some expenses covered but are still trying to secure a little more to be able to make the trip.
Would be a shame is she was unable to make it… She is a lot of fun to watch race around NSS.
wish
i wish bubba pollard would come down to race.,

Was Mike Eddy the last out-of-state guy to win the Florida 200 in 1981? I don’t count Bobby Gill as “out-of-state”; he’s still a Florida boy to me, and not sure if he was living in North Carolina when he won in the mid 1990’s.
Yes, Mike Eddy was the last out of state driver to win it.
