Actually, Tommy Duckworth had a different name to those on his crew, “Oscar”. Don’t know why, but that’s what they called him.
Also, he had a bunch of people named John on his crew, so they came up with nicknames. There has “Otter”, Johnny “Jive”, “Hog”, and “Wienie”.
There was also a really tall lady, and they called her, “Gonnie Goo Goo”. She hated that, and I saw her jump up and snatch someone off the top of a big truck, after they called her that. She must of been 6’ 5".

There is also:

“Rat” - Ron Regula
“Slideways” - Bob Regula
“Flip Flop” - Bill Flingos
“Speedy” Reeves
Mark “Cheater Man” Keeteman
“Big AL” - Alan Styers
Ted “The Wolfman” Vernon

I sometimes got called “Wolfman” because of my beard.

I called a few drivers “7 Up”, because they “Never had it, and never will.”

Is there any driver, NASCAR or otherwise, that has a good nickname any more?[/QUOTE]

I’m really enjoying reading these… lol
Rick Anges calls me Dalton “Shake N’ Bake” Baldwin.

So, besides Tony, does any other current NASCAR driver have a memorable or great nickname?

One I haven’t seen mentioned yet - and one of NASCAR’s earliest superstars - Glenn “Fireball” Roberts. Another one was Little Joe Weatherly. Interstingly enough, ol’ Fireball didn’t get his nickname from racing. He threw a mean fastball playing baseball

Weatherly was also known as “The Clown Prince” of racing because of his love for playing practical jokes on his buddies at the race track.
