Adios to Pub 44

Is this old news? I hadn’t been to New Smyrna for a few months, but last night I noticed that Pub 44 has changed hands and appears to be some sort of seafood place. They were a supporter of New Smyrna Speedway for a quite a while, and recently were the division sponsors for the Strictly Stocks.

Funny thing about Pub 44: they closed way to early. The only time we could go there was if the races rained out. Otherwise the kitchen stopped taking orders at 11, so we ended up in Denny’s. There should be an all-night pizza and beer place near every race track. Better yet, have on IN the race track, that would build some community spirit among the racers.

That’s too bad, we’d always go there for dinner before catching the Tour Mod’s at NSS during Speedweeks. Sad to see it go. Have never understood why tracks don’t have an area on the spectator side where you continue to serve food and beer and maybe a live band too AFTER the races. For the couple of hundred bucks that hiring a band would cost you could ease traffic flow out, continue to make money and have a place for the teams to mingle with the spectators and maybe have a frosty beverage or two. Great environment for sponsorship deals to come together also. :ernaehrung004:

OOPS…my bad.

To the credit of New Smyrna, they do have a nice bar that is open after the races. They didn’t serve food in the past, but I have not been for a while, so maybe that has changed. Although it is a good place to hang out and visit, I’ve got food on my mind after racing, so I was usually on the run to eat somewhere. Why not put a pizza oven in the Pit Stop bar?

Hell with the past, come on back OSF.
Love, Jim

Yeah, I second the opinion.
Lots of love, Jim

NSS would need more than beer, yuk. Now Crown and Coke would do the trick, yum!!!
