Any intested in go dirt racing??? Looks like FUN!!!!!

When I was up at Charlotte I stopped by 600 Racing US Legends. I looked at the new division that they are trying to get started. With over 50 of them out there they have proved themselves in NC tracks. They are really good looking and if they can take off like the Legends they have over 30,000 made since they started in the early 90’s. Eastbay Race Way would be a perfect place to start a class. Here’s the information from their website.

Dirt Modified
The U.S. Legends Dirt Modified Car is the future of dirt track racing. This open wheel dirt style race car was designed to accommodate drivers of all experience levels. The L-Mod, as it?s commonly referred to, is safe and easy to handle, a good choice for a first time dirt driver, but has enough horsepower to satisfy the expert drivers dedicated to the sport of dirt racing.

Bruton Smith, chairman and CEO of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., and Ray Evernham, CEO of Ray Evernham Enterprises, together, developed the L-Mod. . Evernham oversaw the design, fabrication, and testing of the new chassis, engine, and body style for the car. The final product was released in the spring of 2011.

?The local tracks around the country are where the stars of the sport get their start, and we need to create the opportunities that inspire young racers today and hone their talents for tomorrow,? said Smith. ?Grassroots racing is a passion of mine and Rays, and through this partnership we can give back to our roots and support the future of grassroots racing.?

Them things are at least four years old. They previewed 'em at the PRI show back in 2008, I believe it was.

Yep!

Another dwarf car in disguise.

Yeah, but they didnt start selling them until last year. Problem here is who wants to be first, and hope others follow?

They need to throw some old reproduction (scaled-down) coupe/coach, Gremlin, Pinto, Pacer, Vega, Vega Wagon bodies on them things…

Another unneeded class to dilute the driver pool. It’s not needed and they are damn ugly. LOL Seriously, if you want to get back in racing and think you might like something like this, get involved with the mini-sprints. They’re already established, put on a great show, and have great car counts already. We should look at the asphalt scene and see what having all these different types of cars and classes has done to it. Low car counts, boring shows, and diluted car counts overall. Dirt doesn’t need to go in that direction. They have their own issues already.

Florida already has too many divisions, we don’t need another one. I’m glad if it is working for them up there but lets increase car counts in the divisions we already have before we talk about new classes.
