October 6th…Don’t miss it!

Seafest??

This ad shows why racing in florida is in trouble. Instead of promoting the race, they are promoting the cost to the racer, this is a disgrace. The new name of the race is going to be the “Mandatory Tire and Fuel 100” And they wonder…?? Joe

what did you do Sat. night?

what did all the local area race fans find to do besides attend the Late model race @ Desoto Sat. night? The car count was dissapointing, but the very low attendance was surprising. Having attended Desoto & specifically “Seafest” the last many years, I honestly would like to hear why people chose to pass on this years event. It’s going to take the racers, fans, & supporters to turn things around, along with some wholesale fresh attitudes.

It was sad to see the turn out in the stands, and with the supers. Over the years this has been one of the best races of the year. I took a vacation day to attend and the racing was fantastic. Campi did some of the best driving i have seen all year but it would have been nice to have had a full field and fans support. There were a lot of series regulars that were not there like Winchell, Anderson, Shelnut, and Scofield. Aside from that it was a great race. Campi had the most dominant car I have seen all year other than Shelnut at PGS last race. Fun to watch a good car come from the back to the front.

What’s even sadder than that is PGS was flooded out again. And no cars went there . I just think its a matter of time before its closed down .Showtime has taken the St. Pete car draw ,which had dwindled anyways. Like many have said on here before.Until new management is in place, racers and fans won’t go anymore . It’s sad because that is a great track to race on.
