Jimmy Britts

Jimmy Britts of Orange Park with a little extra “air Conditioning” during a NASCAR All Pro race at Martinsville… Whatever happened to him?

Went to the Goody’s Dash Series… then disappeared.

From what i recall, this was a somewhat typical car configuration for him. Seemed to have more money then common sense - would hold my breath when my favorites would have to pass him.

We can expect nothing less nor less insulting from a ‘man’ whom calls himself ‘bubba’…
We can rest easy knowing Bubba’s recollection is inaccurate and delusional.

In the race this photo was shot, this was his first visit to martinsville in a Garc car that was 3 races old. Jimmy qualified 6th out of 56 cars. Starting on the outside row, he fell to 9th on the initial start and maintained top ten status until he slowed for a wreck in front of him and Rick Crawford (who was behind jimmy) jumped the curb on the inside and landed on jimmys hood. Jimmy finished 11th that race and won rookie of the race as year.

Jimmy Britts ended his racing career for the betterment of his family in 2001. During his 25 years his credits include over 300 feature wins, rookie of the year in 5 different touring divisions, multiple pole awards including NASCAR’s bud pole award for most poles season long.
Over the 25 year span he only owned 3 store bought chassis. He and his father built everything they had including trucks, trailers, chassis, components, etc.) This was due to the fact that they had NO MONEY. Only sense. Engines were assembled with mostly hand-me-down parts until some sponsor funding was aquired. Nevertheless he was still required fiscally to build everything but the engine. Again, due to the fact that they had NO MONEY. Only sense.

Jimmy currently runs a division of a military aircraft re-work facility in Jacksonville, Fl. and still owns Southern Speed in Orange Park, Fl performing high end (concourse level) automotive restorations as well as misc. metal work of any configuration or field.

He is married with 2 boys and one girl, living happily ever after…

Southern Speed #92. Unload the car with a full body and reload it looking like a modified.

Didn’t say he wasn’t a nice guy, family guy etc…perhaps I was wrong about the money part. Standing firm on the wrecking part.

Taking a lot of flack lately for “Bubba” would everyone please refer to me as Cooter from now on. That should get me some instant credibility.

Lol he said cooter
I like cooter

Nice twenty five year resume and a happy ending.

Lol
Happy ending
Cut it out
