Dave Dion, who now resides in Florida and is very active with the Living Legends in Daytona, at Martinsville with his Mercury Cougar… This was a stout car!
A true legend. Always ran Fords, his crew consisted of himself and 4 brothers, had very little sponsorship… and kicked ass for over 30 years.
In all my years, and all places I’ve been, I never ONCE got to see him race. BUT, I’m looking forward to working with him on organizing this years Modified Reunion. Living Legends, along with Geoff Yoder, myself and others will be doing joint promotion for the 6th annual event. I was gonna give up, but others won’t let me…!!!
I was lucky enough to see Dynamite Dave Dion in many, many of the old Busch North Series races. Always piloting an orange underfunded Ford of some type and winning quite often. Everyone respected him and he always seemed to have a smile on his face at the track. Glad to see he’s still involved in racing and has been able to escape those harsh New Hampshire winters.
