I don’t miss many big races but this week at work two days holiday double time worked OT wednesday then picked up today and tomorrow. Couldn’t mess up such a good check by not working Saturday. I think they shot themselves in the foot, though, representing this race as the “Florida State Championship”.
The Florida State Championship was held last weekend at New Smyrna.
Something broke in the 29. 35 to go. Scofield leading with Cope 2nd.
Travis Cope wins with a pass on the outside of Scofield after the yellow for Smith.
Good crowd onhand tonight.

Thanks for the updates. I am really surprised that there were only 11 cars but it sounds like a good race anyways. Sounds good good to hear the name Cope back in the winners circle there, watched Jimmy win a bunch he was the man.
Travis is Mike’s son, Jimmy’s nephew.
Thought it was cool that they had Joto’s Pizza Pub on that car 
Yes it was cool. I have known Jimmy for years, Travis is doing pretty good too.
The race only had 11 cars but it had 4 different leaders. Was a good race and an outside pass for the lead that led to the win. The other classes had very good races also.
it was a good race, and what difference does it make what they call the race? 5000.00 to win surely should have been enough to draw more cars then that. to bad for them i dont think travis cope cares at all what they call it do you think???
Cope doesn’t care at all that there were only 11 cars… but I’m betting that YOHO cares there was a pathetic field for an outstanding payout.
Just goes to show that the old theory that “If you put out money, they WILL come”… just is NOT true.
It’s true the money was there, but the cars weren’t. Dunno why more didn’t show up, but hopefully they’ll figure it out. It was still a good clean race. Travis Cope had the car to beat and made the outside groove work. Yoho, like him or not, did keep the purse, did thank the fans all night and did apoligize for the low late model count. But for a 15 dollar show, there was a lot of good racing in all the classes. Only complaint would be the length of intermission and the pre-race activities for the late models.
very true mr. frasson118, what also is NOT true is people on here saying support your local track or it will look like this, because no matter the date or anything else they come up with, yoho did not cut the purse for 1 driver so shame on them for not dipping from the well so to speak…

Nice insult, there, bud. Would’ve expected a more mature comment.
I know I would’ve expected a LOT more cars - not even “quality” cars - to show up. The money (payout) was certainly there; the fans showed up. Where were all the cars? I wouldn’t have been surprised at all if some of the fans asked for their money back after that (lack of a) show.
“Quality race” and “11 cars” don’t belong in the same sentence.

I won’t be critical because you live in Obama’s Nest! I taped the race at Showtime and it was a class race. For 11 cars they put on a whale of a show and I tape there in the grand stands and I don’t think there was a fan very upset with paying for that show. They witnessed some heads up racing. I have taped programs where there was 28 cars on thr track and the car that started on the pole won. That wasn’t the case here. There was passing every where. Like Ralph said there was 4 different leaders. I think there was only 3 cautions. The first 50 laps were run straight green. I was praying for a caution. Not only that the street Stock race and the Mod Mini race were worth the price of admission on their own merit. It was a good show and Robert payed the Big money he promised. I talked to Robert before the show started and although he was disappointed in the LM count he was determined to put on a show for his fans. I believe that’s why he has full stands every week.
