With the Pete Orr Memorial this weekend at NSS, how about posting a few Pete Orr photos… This one is at Palm Beach, probably late 1970s after he won a race driving for Jimmy Bilton…
I remember Pete coming to Western PA to race in 98
Pete in a BGN car from about 1996, I think. Kevin Lepage ended up in this car, then the team disappeared.
The Man !
A photo of my friend Pete Orr. The wheels are spinning as Pete prepares for another race. Pete was a great person, great father, great husband and then was a great driver.
There are many special memories I have of the remaining months I spent with Pete, working with him as his son Bobby was racing my mini-stock and chasing the Mini-stock championship, which we won in 2002, because of Pete’s efforts even when sick to work on the car, test and help Bobby. During those times I had some great conversations with Pete and I remember the last night I saw him at his house, he thanked me for letting his son drive for me, and for caring for him and his family. He gave me a handshake and then a hug, I promised him I would always look out for his family and I have tried to over these 11 years. It is very personal and I will remember it until I see Pete again some day !
Thanks Pete for the memories and your friendship miss you pal !!!
The 88 car was David and Karen Ridlings car out of Okeechobee…LePage did take it over and won at Homestead with it under the Hype colors
I sure miss him. Some of the best times of my life, both on and off the track.
