Orlando Speedworld Update

ORLANDO SPEEDWORLD GRAND REOPENING AUGUST 3RD WITH TBARA SPRINT CARS

Orlando SpeedWorld has been undergoing a restructuring and will re-open on August 3 with theTBARA Sprint Car program rained out in June as the featured attraction.
Bob Watson, formerly of Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire, has taken over the reins as General Manager and will be bringing a number of changes to the SpeedWorld facility in order to present a “family friendly” show for the fans. A firm schedule has not been set as of yet, but plans are to move all racing activity to Saturday nights. Watson says that in a conference call this week with himself, track owner Ozzy Moya and New Smyrna Speedway owner Robert Hart, Hart gave his blessing to moving the SpeedWorld show to Saturday night. Schedules will be set so that no conflicts will exist between the scheduling for the two tracks.
SpeedWorld will hold two open practice sessions on Wednesday evenings, July 24th and 31st before returning to racing action on August 3. On the schedule along with the Sprint Cars will be the Legend Cars, Super Stocks, Strictly Stocks and Bandoleros. Further details will be made available shortly.

Oh so its not the same program from June???

Update

Dave, Thanks for the update. We will be there for the practice and standing by for a Super and Pro schedule. We support Mr. Watson and look forward to positive changes.

Let’s hope good things happen. The move to Saturday nights must mean NASCAR is no longer involved at Orlando.

Put on a big late model show with a big payday in September to kick things off. Just my opinion…I would go.

I’m pumped up! It looks like things will turn around at my favorite track.

wooOO wOOOt:)

Can anyone come watch practice???

Get rid of the Ledgs and the Banderos.Geeez

yes any one can come watch practice you can come in the pits

Do you realize the bandoleros are young kids raceing what do you suggest they do?

Yeah. The kids are great…

How many kids that raced bandoleros 5 years ago are still racing today? I can only think of a few.

joey logano and david ragan both ran bandoleros with me dozens of times, they both have nascar sprint cup wins…

When Ragan & Logano show up, then put them on the schedule… until then, we have been subject to these 2 for way too long.

I’ve seen some decent Legends races, but it takes a nice car count. They haven’t a decent count at OSW any time in recent memory.

Bandos have NEVER put on a show worth watching.

Stop beating the horse… it’s been dead for a decade now.

Agreed with Jerry on all counts… Bandos are a show killer like grading a dirt track after every heat…

Bandos are for the kids… Let em race… We all have to start somewhere. My kids loves them, wants a bando for his 8th birthday.

Well

Run them before the show starts. You might get future drivers that move into another class’s. BUT THEY SURE ANNOYING.

Why not have a stand alone race on sunday afternoons every other week or so? Run Legends, Bandoleros, Go Karts and Quarter Midgets. They can get more track time and the track can get another source of revenue. Win-Win-Win.

well if your going to drop them because of low car counts there would be other classes gone before the legends and bandoleros .
