OSW is returning to Friday night racing - Opening night is March 7th…
There will be some Saturday specials, the first being a TBARA show (with other classes TBA) on April 19th…
Classes for March 7th will be Pro Trucks, Super Stock, Strictly Stock, Four-Cylinder Stock, Legend Cars and Bandoleros…
The orlandospeedworld.org web site is operational and is being updated on a regular basis… the schedule thru May is posted on the site…
Rules have been posted on the site for Modifieds, Sportsman and Strictly Stock classes… Rules for other classes are still being worked on and will be posted after they are finalized… Purses are also being finalized and will be posted on the site, probably next week…
Donnie (sorry don’t know his last name) is the GM and Butch Carr, Sr. has been hired as promoter… I have agreed to begin the year as announcer and PR guy…
The object initially is to return to some “old school” type racing and build a field of cars before making any real attempt at getting a crowd to attend on a regular basis… There has to be a “show” before you can get fans, especially in the Orlando demographic… Look for quite a bit of cross-promotion this year between the oval track and drag strip too…
Please don’t come on here with questions that I can’t answer and please no stupid bashing… I think with some support and the proper people in place, OSW can make a comeback although it won’t be immediate… I’d just like it to be a fun place to race and congregate like it used to be…
