It is good news that Tammy will be able to make a full recovery from the accident, but it will take time.
There are a total of seven cervical vertebrae in the neck that support your head and connect it to the shoulders and body. A fracture in one of the cervical vertebrae is called a cervical fracture or sometimes, a broken neck. Tammy has a fracture of the fourth vertebrae and trauma in cervical vertebrae five, six and seven. As you can imagine it could have been far worse, but as the track’s medical official, Don Grinde, stated she was able to move all her extremities when she was put aboard the Baylife helicopter, so there is no worry of paralysis.
Please keep the family in your daily prayers.
