The tracks are very similar…Critter and Cope would be excellent for the place…I know critter and jimmy personally and they left because they weren’t being treated properly…I also know that yoho would work his ass off because one thing yoho is…and that’s a working man. If yoho could get the lease he would have to do what yoho cant stand and let someone else run it…he has to have his hand in everything…he flips burgers and takes photos…hes got issues. I would really like to see Jimmy get it. he has personally told me that its one of his dreams to own/operate a track. With critter on his side that would work…and don’t count out someone else…Rex Guy…just sayin.

I’m trying, OS. But since we installed this traction control thingy the driver just has no patience. He flashes his high beams but the damn cars just won’t move over and let him by!

Another Wednesday come and gone and no announcement from Gary. So sad for the folks up in Inverness. Maybe next week.

Any hope that someone will rescue this track? It is most unfortunate; I’m 69 years old, my night vision stinks, so traveling much is out.
Showtime and Auburndale are both running modifieds this weekend.
Aside from that field splitting brilliance, no kids to bribe/guilt trip into taking you to one of those venues? 
Nope, kids are in other states. And apparently planning a trip to Iceland. 
It’s a friggin crime that Gary is leaving everyone in the lurch by not even saying what his plans are. That track has been there for 60 years. This should be a year of celebrating that anniversary, not destroying the place. The post by “Roadtrip” says it all. That track is more a part of the community up there than any other track in the state. Every week that passes leaves racers no option but to go somewhere else. Many may like their new digs and never come back. Gary, just sign the lease over to Yoho and disappear. You have no hope of getting people to trust you anymore. I hope somebody with some capital can step in and save this place. It’s a great little track with a loyal local fan base. I would love to tow up and support Citrus in the first Sportsman race after this needed “regime change”. SAVE CITRUS COUNTY SPEEDWAY

Here is another thought. There is a quality inn (or some such) within a mile or two of Showtime.
Book a room in advance, drive over in the daytime, lounge at the pool, hit the races, the room, & head back the next day, all in the daylight.
(Smoking a big cigar at the pool so you feel rich is optional)
Here is a picture taken at 630 this evening for the “open practice.” I don’t see any race cars, just a few go carts.

was it a posted practice ?? did people know ?? That just sucks…There were never a ton of cars for practice but there were always a few? We really cant lose this track…im sure the fair people are getting tired of it
Yet Nathan had nothing better to do in his life than to go down and take pictures, lol.
are the fair board members racing fans? are they getting the rent check on time? if the answer to the 1st question is yes, they might be a little tired of it. if the answer to question #2 is yes then that maybe all that matters to the fair board. if they are not racing fans then they might look at this as a good deal. no racing no damage to the property no phone calls about noise and they are getting money.
Like Beethlo, seems like we should “pull” for the track.
A track permanently “going away” just because some do not like the promoter seems like nothing but a loss with no upside to me.
