business people and I do mean real business people will look at the investment needed and what they will get in return. bottom of the p&l sheet tells it all. people that have nothing to invest will try it because they have nothing to lose. so goes the way of local short track racing.
So today is supposed to be the day that Gary gives his big announcement as to what the future holds for CCS. What’s going to happen? Will he continue to try and run the place? Will he sell out to Yoho? We shall see…
(cue Phil’s popcorn eating loop…)
The announcement was called due to rain in the area.
Gary doesn’t own anything at Citrus, so i don’t know what he’d sell to Yoho.
Any educated guesses as to why Jimmy Cope and Don Cretty left Desoto?
They both seem like heads-up guys.
Per the Citrus County Speedway website:
Friday Night Test and Tune whatever ya got for $10, 6-10pm.
Concession stand will be open.
In all fairness to Gary, he didn’t specify WHICH Wednesday he’d announce his plans going forward. So I guess one of these Wednesdays we’ll find out. I’m sure the pits will be full for practice Friday night.
The CCS board says plans for racing the remainder of the year will be released in the future. Earth to Gary, you have no more drivers. You ran off some, pissed off others, and now, the last of those trying to help you out have had enough.
Anyone, including a tree service, can host a race.
Whether anyone attends is their prerogative.
I suspect Mr. LaPlant is aware of his situation at Citrus.
But hey, the concession stand will be open!
A situation of his own damn making, but he may just be delusional enough to think he can still make a go of it there.
20 people = $200, and I am guessing his hotdogs are free.
How many cars were at Open Practice last night?
I believe it is tonight, 6-10.
You still have time to make it!

Crap. Damn CRS. I don’t even know what day it is anymore. Anywho, 55% chance of rain. 35% more than needed for cancellation. I’ll just polish the car for next Sat at Desoto instead…
“…55% chance of rain. 35% more than needed for cancellation.”–SG
Now that there is amusing.
BUT, no purses to return, no ticket prices to refund, am guessing it is all about the 10 Bucks-es.
Still, a pretty good tow for you and I would think the setup is different than Desoto…
Nah, only an hour tow. 2nd closest track to the homestead. You’d be surprised how close the setups are too. In all seriousness I hope Yoho gets this place. Gary has worn out his welcome and the people up there deserve for this place to be as good as it used to be.
…And if a Fri/Sat could work anywhere it would with a Citrus/Showtime deal. Same setup-same gear. The tracks are very similar.
It sho-nuff seems like Desoto is bigger than the other two, but you got a tach, I have guesswork.
Gear is definitely way different. Shock/spring/wedge deal not so much.
