Three Palms Speedway cancels races.

Three Palms Speedway has cancelled their racing program for tonight due to low car count. They said only 12 cars showed up to race. They refunded fans and racers their ticket money. What a shame. That used to be a great track. Looks like they better stick to drifting and go-carts, something they know how to manage… Looks like the airport authority knew exactly what they were doing when they awarded the contract to these people. Now they can have their land back. So sad.

There are a lot of cars on jack stands in the general area. I think the low payouts and mis management will be the demise of the track. Hopefully the Hasse family will let someone run the place for them, before they lose it. I would hate to see the place close down again.

The low pay out and refusing to listen to the racers is the primary issue in my opinion. The lack of real information vs misinformation has caused some real issues. The interaction with drivers/owners seems more negative than positive. Why would they continue to schedule the same classes on the same night as Desoto when they know how much lower their purse is. The location of the track would seem to ensure they would have some decent car counts if things were handled differently. I just dont understand why you would want to change anything from how it operated in the past until you had won over the racers who have raced there previously. They alienated many who wanted to help them from the beginning and that will be very difficult to overcome. They really need to take a hard look at what could be done to correct these issues if that is even possible at this point. Fans seem to accept having no bleachers when the admission was reduced but that seems to have worn off. This has been very frustrating to see it go this way after having such high hopes.

I would like to know why the track would pay spats 200.00 per truck so they can run there, makes no since to me,anyone have and answer,

Man. Things are not looking good. We are down to NSS, Adale, Desoto and Showtime as the only legitimately run asphalt tracks in FL. I just hope that the racers bad experiences with all the half-assed and poorly run tracks will not sour them into parking their cars. On paper this should help the car counts at the “Final Four” but I’m not sure how that will play out in reality.

We are dealing with the same type of idiot promoter at Citrus. They just don’t get it. Auburndale, Desoto, NSS and Showtime are the only tracks worth supporting these days.

Five tracks. You’re forgetting about 5 flags

Gary already ran this place into the ground… Just sayin !!!

By the end of the season, 3PS will default on their lease and the airport will take over the property once again. I am calling this right now. :waffen093::anim_pound:

The Airport Authority is going to tire of this nonsense eventually. This looks like a perfect opportunity for Jimmy Cope and/or Critter to step in and build a track that would rival any in the state.

Nathan, we know you have it hard on for Gary, but do you really need to come on posts that have nothig to do with either Gary LaPlant, or CCS? Take your petty little vendetta elsewhere, it gets old. With cancers like you trying to attack your local track, it’s a wonder that the place is struggling. Yeah yeah, we know, it’s all Gary’s fault. You go on endlessly about it. If you’re going to keep your car on jack stands, then why do you care so much?

A little birdie told me they already are tired of it…

still no answer to my question…does anybody know,

three plams

Again I Ask Why Does Three Plams Pay Spats 200.00 Per Truck To Race There,i Dont Get It

That’s the only way they can get more than ten cars in the pits.

Scott, don’t forget Bronson Speedway which is a nice asphalt track in Archer, FL. It may be suffering from low car counts but it is still running. They have already picked up a few of the drivers who raced at Citrus County Speedway, maybe a few more guys will go there in the weeks to come.

Bronson Raceway----I was just looking at their car counts. Not too shabby, not great, better than usual, but still not too shabby. Bronson Raceway is a strange little 3/8 miler, patterned after Monadnock Raceway in New Hampshire, go figure that one out. It’s kind-of squared-off in the corners, boxy somewhat. The machines come flying off of the far corners.

I don’t count Bronson because it’s so badly mismanaged. The ONLY reason the car counts are slightly better is because Citrus is closed. I love the track and come to think of it, it is very reminiscent of Mad Dog (Monadnock). It’s just too bad it’s run so poorly. You would think Ann would know better being from Riverhead. Take this Sportsman Triple Crown thing. By making you have to run all 3 races everyone else is now locked out except for the 12 cars that made the first one. I’m sorry but 12 cars is not a good field. They seem to be falling all over themselves about actually drawing 12 cars. Sign of how bad it is there. I would love to go up and run the third leg of the Triple Crown in July but there is no way in hell that I’m going to pay a $50 entry fee, buy 2 tires and buy 5 gallons of racing fuel that I don’t use to run for one third of the purse that everyone else is running for. Sorry.

Does the back straight feel like washboard at Bronson? God I hate Monadnock’s surface lol Fun track but it needs some attention

There are no frost heaves in FL, Philthy…
