Matt Kenseth

Nascar had as thrilling a finish for a cookie cutter track they could hope for.Joey Loganno, who I have always viewed as a silverspoon brat won but in my eyes the hero of the day was Matt Kenseth. His response and demeanor towards the incident with the brat showed me there are some real professionals still racing today. This unfortunate deal will likely end his hopes to be in the championship finale and I can live with that as long as the brat does not win either. If you are a Loganno fan don’t bother to attack me as I respect your view and just feel differently.

EG–Am not particularly a Logano fan. Or a Kenseth fan.

Even if I was, I tries to see it as it is (doesn’t mean I do, it means I tries).

Since forever people complain about “blockers”, Tony Stewart included. He hasn’t had to worry about them lately, but I digress.

There is an art to it, in my book, and Earnie Bass was one of the best. Dave Dunkin and the Andersons and many more were/are good at it as well. Wayne Heckle also.

BUT, if you are going to block, you have to count on taking a hit from the second place guy, and possibly suffer the consequences.

Logano’s move was not clean. But it is getting to be showtime for the Championship, and Logano is trying to reduce his competition.

And y’know, a win is a win, particularly at Cup level.

I think they both did what they needed to do, and Logano won the fight.

No arguement from me on anypoint, I just don’t like Loganno. I completely agree with you on Ernie. He would race you inside/outside but if he got the lead he found the middle and the shorter the track the more of the middle he could use. Watched Robbie Ashton do the same thing to him at Eau Gallie that Loganno did today. Ernie was probably as good as anyone on the short tracks he just didn’t get the signature wins in the big ones. Always liked watching him.

I had about forgotten about Robbie Ashton. :ernaehrung004:

He was close to the Pullen boys in the “knock the frame out from under it” category!

And, as mentioned, Logano isn’t one of my favorites. But remember, a few years ago they were spinning him out weekly, and he and/or his Daddy were trying to get into fisticuffs.

No biggie, but a fair bet that Logano feels that it is his turn now. And it kind of is…

ps–not in the same category (as usually he didn’t need another car to tear his up), but remember “Sideways Sid” Stites?!

Joey still had plenty of time to pass clean, but he chose to dump Kenseth. Not what I would consider good racing. Not a fan of either driver.
