Since I generally keep to myself, and don’t throw my opinions out there very often (and realizing that statement is COMPLETE bullshit)… in all seriousness, I think it has a lot to do with promoting the Modified Reunion. I’ve posted a TON of Mod pictures along the way.
But, I had no clue that I’m the biggest mouth out here. And yet, I’ve made a TON of racing friends because of this board.
I may have said some things I’m sorry for, but the people I’ve met will never be something I’d trade back in.
If your Top 25 could somehow have the actual amount of time as a member out next to the abnormally large numbers of meaningless, self-promoting posts…I think that would tell a better story, percentage-wise, as to who is actually wearing out their keyboard the fastest…and it would also serve to make my other post a little bit funnier in the process.
>Kick ideas around to potentially reduce racer costs and possibly grow the field sizes through rule changes.
>Make positive suggestions for a track or tracks that may be of benefit to them so that they can be more successful.
>Build up a racer so that they can find the strength to repair the car and go on one more time, and celebrate their victories when they occur.
>Review one’s experience at the track, to hopefully motivate others to attend.
>Simply be thankful for the camaraderie of other racing fans and racers per se. I would list them, but the list would be long and no doubt I would forget someone. At any rate, it’s good to know y’all!
>Participate in honest debate with folks to hopefully come up with good, real world solutions to “issues”, whatever they may be.
>Through both direct and indirect actions, give Praise to the Lord. By the way, thank you Lord for the Grace that will get me to the track tonight!
And while I am thinking about it, thank you Rick for a forum to make all of the above possible for The Sport, and all of the time, effort, and no doubt aggravation it takes to maintain KARNAC.
No apologies for 3513. It has taken about 15 years to accumulate that number, but I have been an interested reader the whole time. It works out to 2 posts every 3 days, by the way. Its been a fun ride.
Now what? Assuming here, but I can see that participation is trending downward. Sure, there are loyal members, but how many new ones? Any plans for KARNAC promotion? A tie-in with Facebook or Twitter? How about some stickers for the cars or tracks?
Recently as I traveled along I-95 I noticed several well lit facilities with upscale grandstands. I do not follow stick and ball sports so, I dunno, they were playing fields for baseball or soccer or something.
And I thought “money, money everywhere, and not a dime for Speedworld”.
Still, that is a very nice Sprint Car, sir. I am betting, at least figuratively speaking, you did “build dat”.
