STARS PRESS RELEASE September 8th, 2007

Auburndale, Florida

What a night of racing! 13 STARS PRO TRUCKS lined up for the start of the second round of racing for the new STARS PRO TRUCK SERIES.

Keith Lilly #87, Fast Qualifier drew the 10 pill, putting the #18 of Dustin Henderson on the pole for the start of the “Race Car Engineering” STARS PRO TRUCK 50 at Auburndale Raceway. The #21 of Chris Narramore Jr, started outside pole.

The Henderson MotorSports #18 entry had missed all the practice for the event with brake problems, was now starting on the pole. The #18 led the first 28 laps, with three cautions and three restarts. On lap 29, the #33 of Casey Caudill took the lead on the restart, with the rest of the field tucked in tight, the leader got pushed to the back of the line at the rear of the pack. Casey Caudill and the #33 was walking away from the field when a number of laps later the #33 broke a sway bar.

All thru the race the biggest battle for position was going on in mid pack, with the #10 of George Gorham going to the rear twice for causing the caution to come out.

A number of trucks where caught up in mid pack incidents during the race and several went to the pits for repairs for damage, all returning to finish the race. The #18 of Dustin Henderson had worked his way back to the 4th position and the #10 of George Gorham had worked his way back to the 5th position by lap 48, when the #10 of George Gorham made the pass on the #18 in turn three for the forth position.

The finish had the # 25 of David Hardin crossing the finish line first, followed by the #87 of Keith Lilly and #21 of Chris
Narramore jr. in third. The # 10 of George Gorham and the # 18 of Dustin Henderson rounded out the top 5.

Now for the real story!

The number #25 was Disqualified for an engine rule infraction (valve springs), the #87 was protested and refused tear down - DQ. The #21 was protested and found to have an engine rule infraction, DQ (cam). Let it be known, STARS enforces the rules!

These DQ’s moved up the remainder of the field, with the #10 of George Gorham scoring the win, the #18 of Dustin Henderson in second and the number 7T of Bill Hoffman in third.

The STARS YOUNG GUNS started with only two trucks, the #77 of Lance Daubach and the #55 of Johanthan Fortin, who was making his debut in stock car racing, coming from The Star Mazda Series, a smaller version of an F1 car (open wheel). The #7T of Chase Hoffman had mechanical issues, but was able to run in the STARS PRO Division later with Bill Hoffman at the wheel.

The number #77 of Lance Daubach started on the pole and led the race to the finish. Race Car Engineering provided the gift certificates for this race, and were greatly appreciated by all.
