“Superman” Dave Steele came from the 12th starting posistion to take the win after Keith Butler dropped out with only a few laps left with a dominating lead.
Larry J. Brazil and Jimmy Alvis were Ok after a hard wreck on the backstretch. 29 cars showed up after three heat races and a “B” Main 24 cars took the green.

Thanks Rick ,you did not mention Steele had a front wing knocked sideways and also didn’t realise he won! i only saw end of 21 cars crash .What started it?
I missed the wreck also I was watching the leaders. All I saw was Alvis going over Brazil. Our backstretch flagman Donald said he watched it coming out of two and moved just as the cars were going over his head. I believe Steele was more worried about the wing coming off or cutting a tire then the way it affected the handling of the car. The one thing I didnt understand every sprint car race I have ever watched if you have to get pushed off you go to the rear no matter what. TBARA officials called it for safety reasons and gave him his spot back. Nothing against Dave or them was just the first time I had seen that. Tough break for Keith he had it covered.
