Your NEW Board

As most of you know im not the best person for changes. And sometimes things have to change.
Im also the type of person that feels we have the right to say what we please so long as its within reason. Thats why we live in a FREE enterprise society.
I along with the staff at KARNAC have always felt that people have the right to say whats on our mind.
However along with that comes all the riff raff as well. And in the very few past months the porno folks have plastered this site to no end. And because I dont do this for a living, it has well gotten out of hand.
Jack Smith, editor of KARNAC, and a whole host of friends on this message board and even another site ,USAR Fans, have convinced me into making people register their name.
The folks over at Real Racin USA, an internet racing radio site, were gracious enough to allow us to post a message board in its forum.
We still get to post pictures in the message board. In fact we can now post up to five images and post the silly smileys as we please.
But you will have to register, not that im looking for those Racer X’s. We know who most of you are anyway. But its to keep the porno stuff off.
After being at races the past few weeks I know many of you are frustrated at whats been online. And one race official has assured me that even if they are forced to register it wont stop those who like to show his or her feelings. You can express ones feelings as long as you dont do personal bashing.
In addition we had already renamed this site to Sothern Motor Racing to include Late Model, Busch East and the Whelen Modified series. This was because of interest and appreciation of the other series and my love for the Modifieds. Also USAR Hooters ProCup seems to do things their own way and dosnt like criticism and dosnt want to promote its series, drivers, sponsors and its fans in all avenues that are out there. When you cut off credentials, not answer requests to be on our weekly radio show or responses to stories,or even not reply to emails, you are depriving fans, sponsors, drivers and your own series and self. When a representative of a sponsoring company dosnt allow its driver to do a radio show then maybe the company needs to take a look at that representative for depriving the company of its sponsorship dollars… We can understand you have to go thru so and so to get to Mike Helton at NASCAR, but to go thru Paul Warner, Tony Cox to get to Gene Cox is ridiculous. Moreover maybe the series needs to look at itself sometime as ASA and NASCAR have opened their doors up to us. We told NASCAR of this message board and their reply was look at what controversy does at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston Salem. It puts 11000 in the seats week in and week out. USAR maybe did that at Iowa but not for 16 weeks as Bowman Gray did. NASCAR knows controversy is what keeps fans wanting to come back. Most of USAR media dept. stories are press releases or preludes to an upcoming race. Not much is original. At this site we tell it all because some talk is better than none. We also feel fans want or have the right to know.
More than one time we have been told we are the source they turn to for ALL the news because we tell it like it is and are more original than other sites. In recent weeks we have felt that we are letting drivers and sponsors down by not posting more Procup news.
We all know that short tracks are drying up each year. One track promoter has said WE ALL NEED TO WORK TOGETHER to keep doing business. Perhaps at the Myrtle Beach offices they seem to differ in opinion and care for themselves. Remember some publicity that you get is better than NO publicity at all. For those that appreciate what we write, we thank you and hope you will express yourself more often. WE apologize for how long its taken to realize that we need to go make you register. But for now the Porno is gone. We welcome the folks from ASA and NASCAR. It will take some time to build up those folks as its the end of the season and they dont know about all of us. But word will spread. For the USAR folks, we know you read us and still invite your stories and representatives to be on our weekly shows and express your opinions and your series.

THANKS for moving the forum here. I look forward to reading and posting here in the future.

Yes, this should be a really good move and is very appreciated. Thanks for your interest in following the startup of this new “old school” series as well.
