Not for dinner but to “Inside Florida Racing”, that is.

We hear a lot of joy and a fair amount of discord about all these kids running around our Florida short tracks. Well, it is a national trend, so we might as well get used to it.

Coming up in a future show is two hours of in-depth interviews with several of the stars 13-16 years of age that are making news winning purse money at Florida’s short tracks.

If you have a young racer in mind that you think should be on the show, let us know. We have several already potentially lined up, but we are looking for a cross section across the state.

Who is the hottest youngster in that age group? Is it a male or female driver that will be the next big star coming out of the Sunshine State?

I have two names to suggest, and both are 14 years old and had huge success at Ocala Speedway as rookies in 2007. The first is Thunder Stock first half champion, and Pure Stock second place finisher, Josh Brown. The second is Thunder Stock second half champion, Guy Bacelo Jr. Both are excellent racers who have been taught to be aggressive, but to run clean races, and both deserve credit for their success.
