Don’t you wish you had all those gate fees back, so you could buy your own track??:grinser010:…LOL

Boneman, I see you have been to the track I owned on your list. Hobe Sound. What years did you run there? Was it dirt or asphault? And did you ever here a kid called “The Whizz Kid”? And the track in ZephyrHills, was that Dirt Devels?
Frasson, You got a good list going there. But you got a few more tracks to go to top Ken Schrader, 310 tracks.
Dustin has always been impressed with Ken’s list. That is why he started his list. He is just 17. I’m sure he has been to well over 50 track. When he gets home from the speedway today I will try to get his list and post it.
Mr. South, I ran Hobe Sound a grand total of one time. I was in a Star Champ. It was probably 1999.
Zephyrhills is a 1/4 mile dirt track where the antiques run. It is much more than pace laps, but for most cars it is also something less than a b*lls to the wall race.
Mr South did you have the track at the beginning?
I went to one of the first races held there probably late seventies and I brought a twin engined kart as did Scott Shinn and the two of us proceded to convert the fresh uncured asphalt back to dirt. This was the only time I ever “tore the track up”.

Been to some of those FL tracks plus Moroso[bikes]Tamiami park indycar at Miami college in 87.all three ST Pete road couses.Tampa fairgrounds road course .street course at west palm for IMSA,Peachstate and Lanier in GA.
McAlister… just guessing here on the Arizona dates:
I would guess Tucson Raceway Park would be around 1983 or 84, and Phoenix Int’l. around '91 or '92.
Some nice lists here. There are a few fans out there that have over 1000 different tracks they’ve been to. I’ll be lucky to ever break 100. Getting to new tracks from Central Florida is a tough challenge.
Larry, that is one sweet ride. Do you still have it? Those vintage karts are bringing a pretty penny these days. What is that, an old bug chassis with two kt100’s. And no Nerf bars. I think when Hobe Sound opened it was a road coarse. The man that opened the track was “Lefty”. He had the small engine shop in Hobe Sound. I ran there after he made it a dirt oval. The track closed around 1997 after a karting club paved the oval. I reopened the track in late '99 I guess around the time Boneman ran his champ kart.
Boneman, I never knew there was another track in zephyr hills. The track I was talking about was Dirt Devils. Sam Rodreguz used to run it.
my list isn’t that good. Ron could give Frasson a run for his money though. do ‘competed at’ tracks count double?
so anyway:
Florida -
Auburndale < decent
Charlotte County Speedway / Punta Gorda < pretty good
Daytona International Road Course < eh
Daytona International Superspeedway < booooooooring
East Bay < decent
Eau Gallie < very good
Jacksonville oil dirt < decent
Hendry County < before remodel they had fun, haven’t been back to the new track
Lake City asphalt < decent
Lakeland 3/4 < could be better
New Smyrna Speedway 1/2
Ocala < friendly
Okeechobee < um, okay
Orlando Speedworld
Sebring < not that great for spectating
Vero Beach < don’t really remember
Volusia 1/2 mile dirt < pretty good
Georgia -
Golden Isles < enduro needed some work
Oglethorpe < good
Indiana -
Baer Field / Fort Wayne < decent
Crumstown < practice looked alright
Elkhart, worked corners for the street course for the Go-Karts for many years < great after they had a couple of years experience
New Paris < could be more professional/organized but they make sure everybody has a good time
never made it to South Bend but they were so ‘good’ they’ve closed … and Ryan Newman hasn’t bothered to buy it
Michigan -
Butler < enduro show was not so good
Jones / Thunder Valley < good
Kalamazoo < great, very professional
Mottville < crap
Ohio -
Eldora < pretty good, Steve Kinser put on one hell of a show. Erin Crocker stank it up, as per usual.
South Carolina -
Summerville < pretty good even if Legette ( from northern South Carolina ) can’t stand that southern South Carolina accent. :grinser010:
Virginia -
Manassas < meh
Wisconsin -
Columbus < decent
Jefferson < decent but the track is really screwed up. turn 4 has a ridge which totally jacks up the car on the inside groove but the fast way around 1-3 is the bottom.
Madison International < boooooring Slinger < if you ever get up to Milwaukee, Madison or Oshkosh GO THERE. i was driving all the way from Madison and passing a half dozen tracks to get there. nuff said.
