How many y’all gonna be at New Smyrna for the Modified Reunion? Now that I got me a decent vehicle…LOL…might start headin’ to some of these get-togethers. I need to check out Jerry’s Web site to get times and stuff, but we gotta work at 6am Saturday morning so we’re not stickin’ around for the 100 Friday night. Would still like to check out the old coupes and coaches though
Over 60 Drivers entered, which I think will get a last minute rush once Speedweek starts, and I get a chance to do some face-to-face recruiting
Aprrox. 25 Vintage Racecars coming (I think this number will grow quite a bit at the last minute).
Over 100 signatures in the Guest Book
More than 5500 visits to the web-site
Announcements in/on dozens of Racing papers, magazines and web-sites
Attendees coming from all of the Eastern seaboard states, several from the Midwest, and even a guy from California, who will be coming to Speedweeks this year “because of” this event.
It’s getting close, and man, am I gettin’ nervous!
I could use a little bit of race day help if anyone could help out for a few hours…
If the weather is dry we are coming down from S.C.
Will use the enclosed trailer but want to be there. We will be EARLY so if you need some help just knock on the “KRATE” :ernaehrung004:
I’ll be leaving Palmetto as soon as I get off shift (about 9:00am) but it’s about a 2 and 1/2 hour ride so I’ll be there around noonish…willing to do whatever you need though, so let me know.
We are getting there about 9:00 am so that the “MAN IN CHARGE” can tell us where to put the rigs. Have not been there since 1986.
What is the tag deal in Florida on Trailers? SC does not require. If I bring the open then no tag, Enclosed then it will be tagged, and weighed and opened and inspected and, and at the border.
It is NEXT Friday, only 1 week to go. Who down there has Hoosier Dirt tires with teh CHAIN LINK pattern?
Also looking for teh ULTRA wide pavement rubber. In the old days we called them Steam Rollers and where from Firestone. Another slang for them was Gumballs.
Hope to see and meet some of you.
Back in the old days we use to run the so called steam rollers on dirt and groove them ourselves. At that time they were actually made for drag racing and we use to get them at the local speed shop. No idea where you can get them now. Do you know anyone that drag races?
I wish I could go to the reunion but just can’t do everything I want, and need, to do. Just got back from EastBay and the late models and I may never go to another asphalt race again. Seriously, best of luck with the reunion and I commend you for the effort you’ve put into this.
