USAC anounced that they’re reevaluating the “new” silver crown cars and returning to the old pavement cars this year.they will be running on 1 mile or shorter tracks. This seems like a good move as the new cars were expensive and few in number. Now all we need is a race down here.
Poor Wayne Reutimann Jr. Now he’s stuck with a car that can’t be raced anywhere or sold for any other series.
Those “new” Silver Crown cars will likely go down as the worst idea USAC ever had.
Usac
I agree.did not know Wayne owned his car. I remember back in the 80s we could watch Wayne Hammond win Siver Crown races in the Quickload boat trailer car on ESPN thunder.its a shame cable no longer has live USAC.

Was not USAC that did that. That was a France family special so that they could run those cars on NASCAR tracks. Promised USAC a GREAT DEAL till the Richmond show and then the Phonix mess. They looked at the THUNDER ROADSTER and thought a real car would catch the fans. It did, caught them RUNNING OUT THE GATE. THe frame under Waynes car can be used for push truck for the Crown car I guess.
